Dream Pop Songsmiths The Luxembourg Signal Turn to RME’s Babyface Pro Interface on 'Blue Field'

Super Compact, High-Quality Bus Powered Multi-Channel Interface Captures the Band’s Vast Soundscapes with Remarkable Fidelity

Fort Lauderdale, FL – April 23, 2018 – When The Luxembourg Signal set out to begin work on their new record Blue Field, they knew they would be taking their rich electronic-inflected dream-pop soundscapes in new directions. But to corral their expansive seven-member lineup, spread across either side of the Atlantic Ocean, the band needed a portable recording solution that would let the process emerge organically. They turned to the RME Babyface Pro interface, which captured every twist and turn of Blue Field with unparalleled precision as the band deftly weaved together a tapestry of lush vocals, driving rhythms, shimmering keys, and sparkling guitars.
Change was part of the DNA of Blue Field, according to drummer Brian Espinosa. “Like most bands, we wanted to try something different from what we did on the first record,” he says. Working with producer Mark Rains, they captured pounding drums and bass guitar at Station House Studios in Los Angeles, but afterward decamped to their respective workspaces to flesh out the tracks.
“The fact that our locations are rather far apart, from San Diego to Los Angeles to London, would have been much more difficult to manage 10-15 years ago,” Espinosa concedes. “While it would be nice and convenient for all of us to live in the same city, the fact is that recording technology like the Babyface Pro makes the physical distance between us is less of an obstacle.”

Mark Towers - Multi Analyser XL

RELEASE: OUT NOW

INTRODUCTORY PRICE: £4.00 exc VAT.

When we released the Multi Analyser device for Live 10 we were taken aback with the response that it got, analysing audio across different tracks had been done before but this device was designed by Mark Towers as proof of concept of the new API capabilities of Live 10. Basically it was part of his re-certification to retain that illustrious title of Ableton Certified Trainer.
With numerous mentions around the internet culminating in a Free Stuff Friday feature from Ableton themselves it's quickly become our most downloaded product!
And then in came the feature requests...
One of the first to share on the social channels was Danny J Lewis of the Underground Music Production group on Facebook. His request was simple....
"Can you make the visualiser detachable so i can see the impact of my tweaking without having to have the track with the device in it in focus?"
He wasn't the first, nor the last to ask for this upgrade so Mark has set to work to bring this and further routing capabilities to the Multi Analyser XL!

With a large floating window that's detachable from the main device you can now focus on each track and make changes whilst seeing the results without having to click back to the track that contains the device!
Additionally you can choose to see the audio represented Pre FX, Post FX & Post Mixer!
See what Danny did as soon as he downloaded it - Instagram
Easy to set up, simple to use and ultimately effective!

New Plugin from Glitchmachines: PALINDROME

Palindrome is a granular morph plotting sampler geared toward experimental sound design.

The basic concept behind Palindrome is to fuse four granular samplers with a coordinate plotting grid and complex modulation sources in order to facilitate the creation of morphing sound effects and unusual instrument patches.

The plugin’s main grid section facilitates the creation of custom paths that determine the trajectory of a playhead over time. This playhead travels across a user-definable path that corresponds with the outputs of the samplers which are smoothly morphed using a bilinear interpolation algorithm. Palindrome also features 8 user-definable multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes to facilitate the creation of intricate modulation shapes. With its 4 granular samplers, morph-plotting system, 8 multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes, dual effects processors per sampler, shape presets, 4-note polyphony, deep randomization system, global reverb, 1.4GB sample library and numerous factory presets, Palindrome brings sound designers a powerful new sound sculpting tool.

Antares Auto-Tune Pro Now Shipping

New pitch-correction software features redesigned interface, ARA support

Santa Cruz, CA— April 24, 2018 — Antares Technologies, the global leader in professional vocal processing tools, is thrilled to announce that Auto-Tune Pro is now available. This new, most advanced version of the industry-standard pitch-correction software, can be purchased at antarestech.com and at authorized dealers worldwide.

For two decades, Auto-Tune has remained the industry standard for natural, real-time pitch correction and vocal effects. With Auto-Tune Pro, Antares has incorporated its most advanced engineering innovations along with feedback from the user community to develop a flagship application aimed at raising the bar for music production, in the studio and onstage.

Auto-Tune Pro features a sleek, intuitive interface that has been redesigned from the ground up for streamlined workflow, offering new modes optimized to help users work smarter and faster, whether they’re novices or seasoned pros. The update adds ARA (Audio Random Access) support and incorporates user-requested features such as Classic Mode for creating the legendary Auto-Tune 5 sound.

New Features in Auto-Tune Pro:

New Interface Modes Auto-Tune Pro’s interface has been completely redesigned for ease of use and efficient workflow. A new Automatic mode lets users select Basic View, which provides a simplified work environment pared down to Auto-Tune’s four most-used functions; or Advanced view, which offers comprehensive controls.

Classic Mode Back by popular request, the iconic Auto-Tune 5 DSP algorithm is built into AutoTune Pro’s Classic Mode, for users who want to create that legendary Auto-Tune 5 sound.

Automatic Key Detection Auto-Tune Pro’s included Auto-Key plug-in automatically detects music key and scale and sends those parameters to one or more instances of Auto-Tune Pro automatically.

Audio Random Access Support for Compatible VST3 DAWs ARA technology allows closer integration and exchange of information between audio plug-ins and host applications (digital audio workstations). Users can now edit in Auto-Tune Pro’s Graph Mode without first playing through the selection to track the audio into Auto-Tune.

Improved Graphical Mode Auto-Tune Pro’s Graphical Mode interface has been redesigned from the ground up, incorporating a larger Main Graph, greater zoom resolution, programmable zoom presets, and reconfigured controls that optimize workflow efficiency.

HiDPI Support Auto-Tune Pro offers complete support for Retina and other high-resolution screen displays.

Assign parameters to MIDI device controls to perform dramatic effects in real time, on stage or in the studio.

Redesigned Settings Menu Auto-Tune Pro’s updated Settings menu, featuring a new Preferences dialog, provides new options for customizing Auto-Tune’s behavior and appearance.

Auto-Tune Pro is available for $399; customers who purchased Auto-Tune 8 on or after January 1, 2018 will receive a free upgrade to Auto-Tune Pro. Users of any previous version can upgrade for $129. For more information, visit www.antarestech.com.

Marilyn Manson and YOSHIKI of X JAPAN perform at Coachella

Legendary Japanese rock group X JAPAN made a triumphant return to the Coachella Music &  Arts Festival this past weekend (Saturday, April 21). As one of only a few rock artists performing at the festival, X JAPAN’s powerful rock performance and elaborate production thrilled the Coachella crowd with a rousing hard rock concert, pyrotechnics and special effects that delivered both surprises and guest stars. Mid set, YOSHIKI of X Japan welcomed Marilyn Manson on stage to perform “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” which the Los Angeles Times described as “…a haunting rendition” (4/22/18) of the Eurythmics’ classic. Guitarists Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) and Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses) returned for Weekend Two along with holograms of X JAPAN’s two deceased members, Hide and Taiji. View the full X JAPAN set list, as well as critical soundbites from the show and more below.

“It was such an honor to be part of this amazing festival, playing with so many great artists,” says YOSHIKI of X JAPAN. “Because of our time slot, I was sad I couldn’t see Beyoncé’s show, but at the same time I was shocked so many people showed up to support us. The mosh pits surprised me, too--the audience’s energy was unbelievable. There were so many rock fans onsite, let’s bring back rock to the mainstream, rock’s not dead. Thank you to our fans and Coachella from the bottom of my heart.”

Vujaday Closes Out Successful Debut In Barbados With Justin Martin, Green Velvet, Lee Burridge, Cassy, DJ Tennis And More

During the week of April 4-8, the breathtaking 21-mile-long Caribbean island of Barbados experienced something completely new—the house and techno driven Vujaday Music Festival. Taking place across six picturesque venues situated all over the island, the weeklong dance marathon amassed over a thousand attendees during year one. Being a culture that is better known for its soca, calypso and reggae music, icons of the house and techno underground converged on the tiny island and established a new subculture that was beloved by locals and visitors alike.
The festival kicked off on April 4th at the picturesque beachside venue Pirate’s Cove where festival-goers worked out their calves while dancing in the sand. The event included a wild B2B set from Latmun and Solardo, who warmed up the crown in advance of Dirtybird favorite Justin Martin, Chicago house and techno legend Green Velvet and Toronto resident and Hot Creations signee Nathan Barato.

The energy escalated into day two as attendees spent the festival at the resplendent Bellevue Plantation Estate. Built in 1735, the verdant 100-acre property was one of the first plantations on the island and has since become an ideal location for weddings, yoga retreats, polo matches and now—music festivals. Complete with pool and bougainvillea, coconut, and mahogany trees, you may even catch a glimpse of wild monkeys bouncing in the canopy. Bellevue experienced a Crew Love takeover that included The Fitness & Pony, Nick Monaco, Wolf + Lamb, Lonely C (Soul Clap) and more.

Day three took attendees back to the sand at the Copacabana, along with an exclusive VIP party at Nikki Beach Barbados earlier in the day. Copacabana saw acts such as the inimitable Lee Reynolds and Mikey Lion of Desert Hearts, Vienna based DJ Cassy, the legendary Mark Knight, and 3D (Dave Seaman, Darren Emerson, Danny Howells) closing out the night together.
Bellevue Plantation felt hard to top until arriving at Cornwall House for day four as picturesque vistas of sea and jungle made for a stunning backdrop to the festival. The day offered another solid set of house, techno and disco artists such as Lauren Lane, YokoO, Nitin, Lee Foss, and Behrouz. The night finished with a sherbet sunrise which bleary-eyed onlookers enjoyed from the bluff.
The final day returned to Copacabana and closed out the weekend with an onslaught of pulse-quickening sets. Providing attendees with their final dose of house music before resuming their regular lives was San Francisco based house DJ atish, Italian sensation Francesca Lombardo, All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge, a crowd-pleasing concluding set from DJ Tennis and more.
Additional venues include Bellevue Plantation, which was built in 1735 and features spacious grounds, a large swimming pool, a beautiful bar area, and lush gardens surrounding the property. Finally we have Copacabana, which features beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, a stage on the beach, and an epic dance floor.

Vujaday Music Festival would like to thank everyone who made it out to Barbados for the inaugural adventure. Keep your eyes peeled for more news from the Vujaday team as they continue to grow and plan for future events. Rest assured, they are only just getting started.
Vujaday would like to thank their sponsors on the festival: BTMI, Sun Group Inc, Bryden Stokes (Grey Goose, SKYY, Dewar's), Mount Gay Distilleries / Remy Cointreau (Mount Gay, Remy Martin, Luc Belaire), Banks Breweries (Banks Beer), and Island Ice Limited.

Vujaday also sends a big shout out to Permanent Vacation, Dr, Linhart, BN3TH, PKG Shop, and Valia Gabriel for the amazing gifts they provided to guests and artists that performed at the festival.

Morel releases world’s first carry-on luggage and Bluetooth speaker hybrid

TEL AVIV, Israel — April 16, 2018 — Morel, designers of handcrafted, award-winning speakers and audio drivers, announced the release of the Nomadic Audio Speakase, a portable Bluetooth speaker and travel carry-on hybrid that transforms the suitcase’s interior volume into a large-scale hi-fi speaker. Its cutting-edge design won a 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) innovation award. Combining the latest transducer and acoustic engineering with innovative industrial design, the Speakase offers a rich and dynamic sonic experience coupled with deep quality bass sound. Most music aficionados understand that to get accurate, rich, full-range sound, they’ll need a pair of large, high-end bookshelf or floor-stand speakers. Now, with Morel’s Nomadic Audio Speakase, consumers get an industry-leading portable Bluetooth speaker, as well as a unique hi-fi speaker capable of playing music at full sonic energy anywhere they are: indoors, outdoors, home, office and while travelling on the go.

“Similar to large scale speakers, the Nomadic Audio Speakase consists of an enclosure, which is the trolley suitcase, and the Nomadic Bluetooth speaker that is an individual portable device,” said Oren Mordechai, Morel’s CEO and head of R&D. “But, once inserted in the Speakase trolley slot, it acts as a powerful hi-fi audio driver.” The speaker features aptX HD audio, which ensures that a Bluetooth device delivers High Definition (HD) audio. It preserves sound data through the audio transmission, resulting in a better-than-CD listening experience. Most speakers are built large for a reason: rich sound requires space. It’s something that’s been sacrificed with modern portable speakers. But with Nomadic Audio’s patent-pending technology, the Bluetooth speaker can be used with or without the Speakase, where sound becomes much bigger and better. The Speakase boosts the sound and frequencies of vibration, playing louder bass, richer trebles, and just an all-around incredible sound. It’s the science and acoustics of big brand luxury speakers paired with innovation for the modern music lover and jet-setting traveler. Morel broke away from the traditional portable speaker design and developed a small sized stereo box-less Bluetooth speaker. It consists of two custom 6” x 4” woofers and two 19mm tweeters residing on the same axis, and playing in dipole, open-baffle mode. When playing in free air, an open-baffle configuration delivers a natural 3D sonic experience with a true emotional thrill. Unlike in other Bluetooth devices, the driver’s membranes utilize almost 80% of the Bluetooth device front and back surface, providing genuine full body sonic energy, deep bass and a lifelike performance. The Speakase travel carry-on is water-resistant, rigid and lightweight, comparable to the most popular suitcase brands on the market. Comprised of a durable polycarbonate shell with an aluminum-sealed reinforced frame, it is shock absorbent, protecting the speakers, the case, and the traveler’s belongings. Surprisingly, when inserted in its slot, the Bluetooth speaker occupies only 4% of the trolley’s inner volume, leaving 96% inner space for personal belongings and booming sound. Morel is taking pre-orders for the Nomadic Audio Speakase with prices starting at $399 at http://kck.st/2Ds0E0O. The expected ship date is August 2018.

For more info, visit www.nomadic.audio or www.morelhifi.com.
Nomadic Audio Speakase Specs: Dimensions: 56cm x 36 cm x 25.5 cm Weight: 3.95kg + 1kg = 4.95 kg (10.9 lbs) Effective Frequency Range: 35Hz - 20,000Hz Battery: 2200 mha up to 20 hrs (TSA standard) Magnets: Super light hi-power condensed neodymium magnets Power Amplifiers: 2 x 30 watts Drivers: Woofers 6”x 4” (two); Tweeters 0.9” (two) Wireless Connection: BT4.2 APTX + TWS
