In recent times we've been looking back at our time at Ableton's Loop event in Berlin with much fondness, it may have now been a while ago but many of the meetings and discussions caught on the fly in corridors and social areas are starting to come to fruition. None more so than the time we met up with EboMan himself for a full on demo of the EboStudio software.

We'd seen video working with Ableton Live before so was expecting a similarly complex process of set up, we were very wrong as within five minutes we were jamming awy to our hearts content adding that extra dimension to our Live set, whilst importantly not straining the CPU.

Our question were many and the answers simple and straightforwards, so we thought we'd share some of them with you!

Q. What is EboSuite?
A. EboSuite transforms Ableton Live into an AudioVisual production suite. 
Q. Why would i need it?
A, EboSuite provides an unrivalled way of integrating video into live shows and music productions. It enables musicians to produce/perform their own visual music and video clips without having to learn about complex video editing or VJ software.
Q, What's the Suite part about then?
A, EboSuite consists of a growing set of plug-ins for video sampling, editing, mixing and visual effects. Currently seven plug-ins are included:
- eSampler - video sampler (trigger and pitch videos live and more)
- eClips - adds video playback to Ableton's Session View.
- eCrossfade - mix video tracks using different crossfade effects.
- eTrackTransform - position, scale and rotate video tracks.
- eComper - compile a MIDI clip to a movie file.
- eSyphon - send video output from single tracks or the master to other video applications through Syphon.
- eConvert - convert video files to Hap codec.
Q, I'd need a high powered bank of computers to run it surely?
A, All video processing is done outside of Ableton Live in the dedicated EboSuite application that runs in the background to maximise performance and reliability. The plug-ins are designed to fit seamlessly in the creative workflow of music producers and performers. Everything that needs to be done to create and perform audiovisual compositions can be done straight from Ableton Live.
