Introducing Stealth Sonics - New IEM Company Launch at NAMM

SINGAPORE —January 16, 2018— Technology innovator Stealth Sonics (www.stealthsonics.com) today announced the global launch of its first range of precision-tuned universal and custom in-ear monitor systems, to be unveiled at the January 2018 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, in booth #11248.

Stealth Sonics leverages its innovations in the aerospace, medical, music, and acoustic fields to craft in-ear monitors that are as unique as each person—from custom precision-tuned systems to personalized finishes. Artists and engineers enjoy the utmost sonic accuracy and advanced hearing protection, in total style and comfort, with systems that take them from the studio to the stage to the street, without missing a beat.

What’s different about Stealth is its design philosophy which employs the scientific approach to couple a person’s natural hearing system with advancements in acoustic and audiological technologies.

“Nature has already blessed us with a marvelous in-built audio system,” says Davwinder Sheena, co-founder of Stealth Sonics. “We’re merely ensuring the precision and quality of the playback, utilizing the attributes of the natural system and providing versatility for use in many aspects of life. They can be used while working in the studio, performing on stage, listening while relaxing exercising, traveling and generally moving through everyday life.”

At The NAMM Show, Stealth Sonics will debut a series of three systems, each available in both universal-fit options and custom-molded versions that take advantage of second-bend impressions to conform precisely to the inner ear canal, for superior fidelity, minimal acoustic interference and perfect fit:

U2 & C2: A two-driver hybrid design for a warm, smooth, musical sound.

U4 & C4: A four-driver, pure balanced armature (BA) design for punchy bass, silky midrange and crystal-clear highs.

U9 & C9: Flagship nine-driver, hybrid high-performance design featuring a precision-calibrated, large-diameter dynamic driver together with Super-High drivers, for extreme detail, precision and clarity.

All universal-fit in-ear monitors come with the Khameleon Skinz®, the world’s first interchangeable screw-on faceplate accessory that incorporates Stealth Damping® technology. Other available accessories include an array of eartips in various sizes and styles, and detachable silver-wire, copper-wire, lightning, USB-C and Bluetooth cables tailor the sonic experience to the user’s lifestyle.

“The sound fundamentals of acoustic engineering and audiology have proven that our process allows your Custom IEMs to conform precisely to your inner ear canal,” states Balvinder Singh, co-founder of Stealth Sonics. “This provides unparalleled isolation (up to -36dB), superior fidelity, minimal acoustic interference and a perfect fit.”

For the ultimate in personalization, you can choose from dozens of colors and accessories, and even feature your custom artwork to express your unique style or brand. All Custom IEMs feature either a dual or triple-bore sound aperture. Stealth Sonics finishes are highly-polished, seamless unibody designs. All Custom IEMs come with a 30-day refit policy.

Los Angeles folk act Herbert Bail Orchestra releases stunning new video + single

The music video / short film "Chains" accompanies the release of the song by the same name from The Herbert Bail Orchestra's upcoming second album History’s Made at Night, which is set to be released in early 2018.

"Chains" is a coming of age story, a defining portrait of a thirteen-year old boy growing up in the city. He must venture outside urbanity, into nature, to find the courage and inspiration to face his fears and cross a proverbial threshold.

"I wanted to capture part of my own childhood experience growing up in the late 80s and the metaphorical chains that can hold us all back," writes singer/songwriter and director Anthony Frattolillo of The Herbert Bail Orchestra.

The Herbert Bail Orchestra was named one of LA Weekly’s Best Shows to See in LA, has been featured in HuffPost and Nowness, and was the Winner of Best Music Video at the Ciclope Film Festival for their previous video "The Nature of Things"

DFAM - A New Analog Percussion Synthesizer From Moog Music

January 11, 2018, Asheville, NC -- Today Moog Music introduces the Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM), the first addition to the Mother eco-system of semi-modular analog synthesizers. DFAM is an original electronic instrument for the exploration of new concepts in rhythm and resonance.

Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM) is a highly-interactive, Semi-Modular Analog Percussion Synthesizer and a vibrant deviation from the traditional drum machine--presenting an expressive hands-on approach to percussive pattern creation.

DFAM’s fully analog circuitry behaves much like a living organism, reacting in different ways to input from different individuals. Moog Music enlisted three artists to demonstrate the sounds of the new instrument: DJ Haram, Stud1nt, and Umfang--all members of NY’s Discwoman collective. Watch as they explore the new Semi-Modular Analog Percussion Synthesizer from their own personal creative spaces:

DFAM is the first addition to the Mother ecosystem of electronic instruments and each DFAM includes a package of patch cables, inviting interconnectivity via the synthesizer’s 24-point modular patchbay. Create new sounds or bizarre behaviors, synchronize an unlimited number of DFAM and Mother-32 synthesizers together, or fully integrate this analog instrument into a modular Eurorack production environment.

Each DFAM is lovingly designed, assembled, calibrated and tested in Asheville, NC by the employee-owners at Moog Music and has already begun shipping from the Moog Factory to Authorized Moog Music Dealers worldwide.

Starting next week, from Jan 15- Jan 24, Moog will offer free hour-long DFAM workshops facilitated by Alissa DeRubeis and Felisha Ledesma of S1 Synth Library to the west coast subscribers of the Moog Music Newsletter.

Right now, the DFAM synthesizer is part of an interactive interspecies installation at the Cactus Store in Echo Park. Entitled BioRhythmia, the installation uses electromyography sensors to measure the electric energies of a 30 year old cactus. The plant’s energies are converted into analog control voltages (CV), enabling the cactus (a mutant species originally from Bali, but now extinct in the wild) to “play” the synthesizer. Different conditions, different times of day, even different experiences with human passer-bys can affect what the cactus decides to play.

OK Go, The Yamaha All-Star Concert on the Grand 2018 and Andy Grammer Set to Perform at The NAMM Show

CARLSBAD, Calif. – January 3, 2018 – With only 22 days until the start of The 2018 NAMM Show, The NAMM Campus is set to come alive with a variety of Bands@NAMM performers, and at night, talent that includes groundbreaking multimedia artists, legendary performers and a multi-platinum pop singer-songwriter, all performing on The NAMM Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage.

On Thursday, The NAMM Foundation Celebration of Music Education will celebrate the advocacy and dedication of NAMM members with a performance from indie/pop rockers, OK Go. Members Damian Kulash (vocals/video director), Tim Nordwind (bass), Dan Konopa (percussion) and Andy Ross (guitar) have built a unique career at the intersection of music, visual art, technology and science. The band has emerging at the forefront of a class of artists whose 21st-century brand of experimental creativity dissolves the traditional boundaries between disciplines, garnering them millions of fans along the way. Videos like 2007’s GRAMMY®-winning video “Here it Goes Again” featured the act on synchronized treadmills; “Upside Down & Inside Out” showed the band achieving zero-gravity status as they filming the video on a reduced gravity aircraft; and their recent release, “Obsession,” which utilized 567 printers and a ton of paper and later recycled and the profits donated, have all made OK Go a standout act.

On Friday, an all-star line-up from Yamaha promises an unforgettable multi-artist extravaganza with the “Yamaha All-Star Concert on the Grand 2018,” set to crank up the volume to 11. With the concert performers still under wraps, the evening promises a dazzling array of seasoned performers to delight The NAMM Show audience. Past performers at Yamaha’s annual NAMM event include luminaries such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, John Legend, Earth, Wind & Fire, U2 founder and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. and many others.

Saturday evening at the annual “Imagine Party,” The NAMM Foundation and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus presented by Other World Computing will welcome acclaimed multi-platinum pop singer and songwriter, Andy Grammer. Best known for his upbeat, positive musical stylings and prolific, honest songwriting, Grammer has built a career connecting with his audience and fans in a refreshing, clear voice. In 2011, he became the first male pop star in a decade to reach the Top 10 on Adult Pop Radio with "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine By Me," from his 2011 self-titled debut. His second album, Magazines or Novels, featured the triple-platinum infectious smash hit, "Honey, I'm Good," which was one of the best-selling songs of 2015, and the certified gold anthem "Good to be Alive (Hallelujah)." Most recently, Andy released his third studio album, The Good Parts, in December which features the hit singles “Smoke Clears” and “Fresh Eyes,” which has become a streaming phenomenon with over 350 million total streams. In addition to his performance in the evening, Grammer will spend part of his afternoon on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus with young musicians from local area schools.

Each act will start at 6:00 p.m. and be preceded by a variety of performers throughout the day as part of the Bands@NAMM program. The schedule for both The NAMM Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage and The NAMM Arena Plaza Stage Presented by Pioneer Pro Audio is available at https://www.namm.org/thenammshow/2018/bands-at-namm.
