Lisa Loeb to be Honored at the 2018 She Rocks Awards

ANAHEIM, Calif. (October 4, 2017) – The Women’s International Music Network (the WiMN) is pleased to announce acclaimed platinum-selling artist Lisa Loeb as the first honoree at the upcoming 2018 She Rocks Awards. Recognizing women who stand out as role models in the music industry, the live awards event will take place on January 26, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the new House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. Lisa Loeb is a singer-songwriter, producer, touring artist, author and philanthropist who started her career with the platinum-selling Number 1 hit song “Stay (I Missed You)” from the film Reality Bites. Lisa continues to craft irresistible pop songs for the 21st century, while designing Lisa Loeb Eyewear, writing children's books, and supporting non-profit causes. Joshua Tree Music Festival begins this weekend

 

Festival Info:

1. Plenty of tickets and camping passes available at the front gate box office.

2. Box office hours, and ticket prices, can be found on the TICKET page of the website.

3. Festivities commence THU eve at 6pm with music by Gene Evaro Jr., Kuinka & Tomas de la Noche. We will be serving up free rice, beans & beer starting at 7pm.

4. Directions to the festival on the GETTING THERE page of the website.

5. If you bought tickets in advance, just bring your ID to will call box office (no tickets are mailed)

6. Every person on the festival property (campground included) will require a wristband.

7. Every vehicle in the campground will require a camping pass ($75 if your vehicle is 17' or shorter, $125 if longer than 17')

8. Day parking lot is FREE if there are 3 or more people in the vehicle. Otherwise Day Park is $20 for the weekend, or $10 for the day.

Releasing a complete re-master of hit track dubbed ‘Farmer Man’, artistic progeny of emerging Reggae icon Fari DiFuture, Yaadcore continues to push the envelope with his latest release and collaboration.

Let Me Tell You About My Island: Deeply rooted in Rastafari beliefs and principles, recording artist and master lyricist Fari Di Future has manifested the philosophy of the H.O.W.K.L.E.A.R Movement, Heights Of Wisdom-Know, Learn, Execute & Rise, to deliver a breathtaking and humble video for “Farmer Man”. A delicate balance evident in the direction of the video highlights socio-cultural and political issues facing Jamaica while celebrating the island’s proudest characteristics - pulsating rhythms, vibrant culture, flavorful cuisine and local fare.

Poignant shots of the Jamaican countryside punctuate the video as it pans through scenes of Fari DiFuture singing atop a factory shipping pallet or leisurely blowing smoke beneath the shade of a mango tree. The director utilizes sweeping views of the breathtaking island to supplement the visually stunning masterpiece, reinforcing the key themes in the songs lyrics.
Interwoven into the narrative are reels of ginger, coffee and other Jamaican exports juxtaposed against controversial shots of the island’s Prime Minister and angry crowds in protest, while a farmer reaps his harvest (later delivered by Fari DiFuture to a local market). ‘Farmer Boy’ serves as an exposé on real troubles Jamaica is currently confronting - touching on poverty, civil unrest, and agriculture - while paying homage to the natural riches Jamaica possesses, found nowhere else in the world.

Fari DiFuture exhibits both mastery and skill as an artist, expressing fluency and vocal range on a variety of topics, which promote sustainable levity; celebrate the island flavor and cuisine; discuss the reality of impending natural disasters, to the non-appreciation of the lambs breath and the burning of ganja trees, which remains contradictory, as to date, marijuana remains synonymous with tourism and branding.

Bo Nurmi is the enigmatic Swedish Maestro who was the one of the first Sound Designers to release a pack of patches for the synths of the Novation Circuit through our Circuit Patch Store.

It seems fitting in the week that saw Novation push the boundaries once more and launch Firmware Version 1.6 (WOW PANNING & TRIPLETS! WE DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!) we return for the next instalment of the Coffee & Beats Series.

After the massive success of the 80's inspired Delorean Dream it was down to Bo under his BoBEats moniker to pick up the baton and deliver a pack that was up to our newly elevated standards and boy has he delivered!

As the follow up to Coffee & Beats Volume ONE BoBeats set out with an aim to create a pack where each sound can be tweaked to get the most out of the 64 patch slots.

Patches 1-32 are more unique in their macro layout and the sound types are varied whereas the patches 33-64 have more of a standard feel to them to give you a broad sound palette to work with.
Patches 33-64 can be shaped using macro knob 5 to switch between different oscillator settings which will give the patches different character. Macro knob 8 was used for distortion which in turn was tweaked to add character and variation to the sounds.

Native Instruments releases MASCHINE Expansion DEEP MATTER

Berlin, September 26, 2017 –  Native Instruments today releases DEEP MATTER, a new MASCHINE Expansion capturing the euphoric darkness of ethereal techno. Pulsing with moody bass, melancholic pads, atmospheric field recordings, and crisp percussion, DEEP MATTER is evocative of Berlin’s deep melodic techno sound.

When the Berlin Wall fell, a stark, cold techno sound emerged from the abandoned buildings and underground bunkers along the former border. It dominated clubs until minimal arrived on the scene with its lean layers and abstracted elements. Over the years, minimal underwent its own transformation, as its sparse percussion melded with polished grooves and pulsing synths to create the atmospheric, ethereal techno of contemporary Berlin. Today this sound is embodied by labels like Steyoyoke, Crossfrontier Audio, and Stil vor Talent.

For DEEP MATTER, Native Instruments collaborated with electronic musician Torsten Fassbender, the co-founder of progressive trance duo Wellenrausch, who previously contributed sounds and demos to FORM and Kinetic Toys. Fassbender channeled his experimental side to create an expansive library of percussive found sounds and atmospheric field recordings from locations around Berlin. The result is a collection of kits encapsulating the authentic vibes of Berlin’s underground sound, ideal for producers and fans of deep house, trance, tech house, and minimal techno.

DEEP MATTER also includes reamped hand drums, tuned drum sounds, and production-ready patterns. Layers of warm melodic chords mix with reverb and delay for creating effervescent grooves and hypnotic, trance-like tracks, while MASSIVE and MONARK sub-bass and drone presets and analog synth pads pack a powerful punch.

DEEP MATTER runs in the latest version of MASCHINE software on the entire MASCHINE hardware family, and is available exclusively at the NI Online Shop.

A compact version of DEEP MATTER is also available as an iMASCHINE 2 Expansion, for sketches on the go. Tracks can be exported to MASCHINE STUDIO, MASCHINE JAM, MASCHINE, and MASCHINE MIKRO for completion.
