Eiosis - Amazing August Deals

This is a great time to grab great deals on the  e2deesser and AirEQ Premium plugins, as we’ve drastically reduced their price!
The sale begins August 21st and ends on the 31st. Don’t miss out!

Isotonik Studios - ARCADE SERIES RETURNS

When a single screenshot of the work in progress of one of the Arcade Series Returns sequencers got featured on Ask.Audio and spread like wildfire through the internet we thought we might be onto something big.

The only problem was the added exposure meant that the series developer Mark Towers decided he wanted to add more features! Taking inspiration from the arcade games of our youth the Arcade Series Returns consists of four MaxforLive generative sequencers for Ableton Live.
Across the range features include an inbuilt loop recorder that can work on an individual or global level, and the ability to export the output of the device directly into an Ableton Live MIDI clip. Ableton Certifed Trainer Mark explains how each of these work clearly in the walkthrough videos you'll see below.

With integration to a range of MIDI Controllers these sequencers are designed to be played and have fun with! If you don't have one of the controllers listed then don't worry, each can be played with the click of a mouse as well!

ARKANOID

Arkanoid is a rotating melodic sequencer where the main 8×7 grid represents a walled space in which up to 4 balls can bounce around in diagonal patterns.
To start a ball moving, first select one of the 4 sequencers using the numbered selected panel or with a control surface’s ‘scene launch buttons’, then trigger one of the bottom row buttons on a control surface or by using the mouse.

Once started, balls will follow a diagonal pattern which will result in them gradually going out of phase until returning to their starting point. To trigger additional sequencers select the next numbered engine and repeat the process.

FROGGER

Frogger is an 8-step gate sequencer inspired by the classic video game and electronic gate sequencers. Via the mouse or control surface you set the pitch/octave for each step. When the sequence lands on the step the note is triggered. All pitch values conform to the globally selected scale with individual octave control per step.

GHOSTS

Ghosts is a random looping melodic sequencer inspired by the classic arcade game PacMan (but it hasn't got the hero in it!)

The 8x8 grid represents a maze in which the ghosts will move around. Whenever a ghost reaches a junction, they make a random decision of which way to go. When ghosts land on a yellow step, a note is triggered. When they land on a blue step a speed boost / reduction is triggered for a specified amount of steps. Landing on an orange step triggers and accentuated note.

SPACE INVADERS

Space Invaders is a rotating pulse generator designed specifically for triggering drum machines. Independent patterns/rows of ‘Invaders’ are set up in the separate invader engines to the right. These patterns can be static or moving from left to right and have their own parameters which effect note generation.

Lazers are triggered by the ships at the bottom of the grid. Once turned on, each ship will fire a single lazer at a user specified rate (in the settings panel). When a laser hits an invader, a note is triggered. The lazer cycle is repeated until the ship is turned off. Clicking anywhere on the 8x8 grid starts/re-starts a lazer to fire from that location.

NKRIOT Releases New Album "Riot"

NKRIOT underwent a 12 week hiatus to write, record and self produce the album under his
independent label based locally in Boyle Heights,CA ‘NKRIOT Productions’. “RIOT” already
gained a fervor and momentum as being a dark dance hymn. A rhythmic (Four on the Floor)
euphoric anthem, led by a trance-inducing dirty sub bass. Followed with a grievous and nurturing
vocal timbre. The lyrics in the Album simply create an impactful poetic cloud beckoning caution
for those who fear change of direction in one’s life. Reminiscent of artists who provided the
late-nite underground soundtracks to crowded dancefloors filled with club kids, ’RIOT”’ will guide
a new generation of these House devotees, before the sun rises.

NKRIOT is an electronic music pioneer and founder of a new genre art concept called Goji. Formed in the summer of 2013 in the neighborhood of Boyle Heights, California, NKRIOT began as a chip-tune, cyber-punk project, that eventually transformed into full scale self designed music project which eventually led to the creation of the Goji movement.

Goji involves a combination of synth, prog, and electronic beats, armed with a chromed out electric guitar. It is under goji that the distinctive sound landscape NKRIOT has carefully developed can be understood. It is also under Goji that any other artists that fall short of the genres decided spectrum are welcomed. Goji was developed during the beginning years of NKRIOT while he was trying to find a way to represent the unique style of music he makes. Having experience with a wide range of musical styles and not wanting to conform to the broad genre of “EDM”, the name Goji called out to him. This unique concept takes the bitter and sweet sounds of all his genres influences and incorporates them into one, bringing his live performance to new heights. NKRIOT live has a unique high energy sound which features a custom setup that includes hardware that is designed and built from scratch. During his performances, the audience gets to experience the prominent brilliance that makes the half man-half robot a distinctive original artist.

Vujaday Announces Inaugural Dates And Details For Week Long Music Festival In Barbados

From April 4th-8th, 2018, the stunning Caribbean island of Barbados will be graced with a new week long music festival. Going by the name Vujaday, which is defined as “an entirely new experience” and “like nothing you have ever seen or felt before,” the festival will take place in a unique location each of its five days, leaving the first and last day of the week long journey for travel.

This unique format will keep the festival fresh for both tourists and locals alike, giving those new to the island a much wider experience than they would normally get on a typical holiday. These five events will run from Wednesday through Sunday during Vujaday with the largest event on Saturday. Events will take place at Farley Hill, Holetown, South Beach Zone, and the East and West coasts of the island.

Beyond a cultural exploration that will allow guests to visit key regions of Barbados throughout their journey, the debut festival will also curate a lineup focused on different styles of house and techno, roping in internationally renowned DJs and local favorites. An electronic event of this scale has yet to take place in Barbados, and is meant to create an unforgettable experience for locals and travelers.
The team behind Vujaday will be bringing decades of experience in the festival and event space to the beautiful island of Barbados. This includes industry veterans that have been involved in the creation and operation of Toronto based events like Digital Dreams Music Festival, Electric Island, World Electronic Music Festival and All Day I Dream, along with Further Future in the USA and SXM Festival in the Caribbean. The founders have also owned and operated world renowned clubs in Toronto such as Footwork Nightclub, Coda, The Hoxton and The Velvet Underground.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring a major electronic festival to Barbados,” says Ryan Kruger, Vujaday co-founder and president of The RKET Group. The island is brimming with a vivid culture and amazing sights to take in, and we wanted to make sure that the festival format allowed for guests to experience more than just a single location while enjoying music from around the world.”
Vujaday also boasts a unique industry partnership with creative media agency The Confluence, whose publicity and content services have driven successful campaigns for well-known music festivals, brands and conferences around the globe for nearly a decade.

To ensure the local culture is well-represented throughout Vujaday Music Festival, the team has also brought on Norman Barrow, the managing director of A&B Music Supplies in Barbados. He has been an integral part of the music, entertainment and production business in Barbados and the Caribbean for the past 40 years, and has been involved in some of the region's most significant events.
