In Santa Barbra, California, the Glendessary Jam met on, "Make Music Day", the worldwide celebration of Music. The Gelendessary Jam has been meeting for nearly 30 years to practice and celebrate Old Time American fiddle music. They continue the 200 year tradition of mostly Appalachian dance tunes and back porch melodies. Much of this music originates from Scottish and Irish traditions melded with the African-American banjo.
